Senior Product Manager

Our purpose at Apex EDI is to help doctors focus on healing, and the Senior Product Manager is responsible for defining, prioritizing, planning, and driving our product to fulfill our mission of leading the fully integrated clearinghouse market by 2017. This position reports to the COO.

You must have a strong customer focus and be personally committed to being a leader in industry knowledge.

You will be responsible for both product planning (initially) and product marketing (longer-term). This includes managing the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and generating stories for and working closely with software development to deliver winning products. It also includes working with sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Senior Product Manager’s job also includes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support the company’s overall strategy and goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Define the product strategy and roadmap
  • Deliver MRDs and PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification
  • Write and convey Scrum stories that are implemented by Development
  • Be an expert on the industry and the competition
  • Clearly understand the needs and requests of the customer through data mining, customer interviews, and on-site visits
  • Develop the positioning and brand promise
  • Develop sales tools and collateral and regularly train the sales force
  • Act as a leader within the company
  • Work with sales on marketing demand generation strategies
Required experience and knowledge
  • Shipped and supported SaaS/Cloud-based products across multiple releases
  • Created, managed and executed on a roadmap
  • Developed positioning and feature/benefit analysis
  • Generated effective product specs (MRD, PRD, Scrum stories)
  • Cross functional leader across UX, Software Development, QA, Sales, Marketing, CS
Requirements:
  • Passionate about helping doctors focus on healing

  • 5+ years of product management experience with small business, SaaS products
  • Strong technical understanding of systems and experience in design
  • Strong business acumen and a natural generalist
  • Strong understanding of all aspects of the product development lifecycle, including product strategy, requirements definition, use cases, personas, user experience, engineering, testing and launch
  • Conduct market research including market sizing, segmentation, and competitive assessments
  • Demonstrated track record working with cross-functional teams to create new products and enhance existing offerings
  • Must be able to manage product and organizational complexity and ambiguity, while maintaining the product vision
  • Excellent written and oral skills to communicate clearly and negotiate effectively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledgeable in software technology with emphasis on SaaS / subscription products
  • Bachelor’s degree required
Preferred:
  • Experience in the medical claims field, i.e. knowledgeable of ICD-10, 835, 837, 277, HIPAA, etc.
  • Some SQL experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a job in the medical claims clearinghouse market
  • Computer Science degree or MBA

This is a fulltime, regular, salaried position. You must be able to work daily at our headquarters in Orem.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field

Experience

Must have 5 plus years of software development experience. Experience in client/server application development is desired. Experience in the insurance/healthcare industry is a plus.

  • C# and the .NET Framework

  • Microsoft technologies including Windows services and Visual Studio
  • Ability to work through every aspect of a project from concept to release
  • Ability to both work independently and be a part of a team

Compensation

Salary: $80,000-$110,000 including bonus DOE. Apex offers a full benefits package including: retirement plan with company match; subsidized health and life insurance; paid vacation and sick leave; paid holidays.

Who we are:

Apex EDI’s Tier 2 Customer Service Representatives aren’t your typical call-center reps. Yes, we do take inbound phone calls, but our purpose is to help our clients (doctors) focus on healing. This means more than just trudging through various phone calls – but rather creating innovative and effective solutions for our clients. Our Customer Service Representatives are passionate about finding knock-your-socks-off solutions; onboarding new clients victoriously, and quickly and efficiently completing assigned tasks.

Our Customer Service Representatives are critical in reaching our goal to have 10,000 clients by the end of 2017. This position reports to the Client Services Team Lead.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a Customer Service Representatives who possesses five key attributes:

Responsibilities:
  • Manage various lines of communication with client (Email, VM, Phone, etc.) with a positive, upbeat attitude
  • Provide accurate and thorough resolutions to research-based tasks
  • Serve as an advocate and liaison between our client and various insurance and software companies
  • Monitor region accounts to ensure that assigned clients are in good standing
  • Work through assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Work with team to come up with best practices and solutions
Requirements:
  • Strong familiarity with computers and ability to learn new technical systems quickly
  • Able to adapt and roll with changes in processes and metrics
  • Be able to multitask while on a call
  • Experience working and growing with a team
  • 1-year call center experience a plus
  • Three useful survival skills (aka flint knapping, super powers, sense of humor)
  • Experience with zombies, angry monkeys, and/or zoobies a plus
